A limit of 100 people was put in place in\nboth the show and sale rings. To ensure anyone that wished to see the bulls we\nhad Patricia Kennedy in action recording the show section on Sunday evening, we\nthen had Denis Barrett Auctions on hand with a live feed and online bidding\nfacility on Monday. We are very appreciative of breeders and customers alike\nfor their understanding and support of the necessary measures that were taken\nto ensure best practice to protect everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The show was judged by Mr. Martin Conway of the noted Craigatoke\nherd based in Plumbridge, Co. Tyrone. The Craigatoke herd has enjoyed much\nsuccess in the show and sales rings of Northern Ireland and the UK, Craigatoke\nJack \u2013 one of the stock sires to the Ardlea Elite herd was bred by Martin. Jack\nwas purchased in Carlisle in 2015 having placed first in his class and Reserve\nJunior Champion for 17,000gns. We are very grateful to Martin for undertaking\nthe role of judge at short notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many thanks to our stewards Ann and Donal, to the Inspector Pat\nMcGuinness and to the management and staff of Roscrea mart for all their\nassistance. Many thanks to George our auctioneer and to Patricia and Denis. We\nwould like to wish all purchasers the very best of luck with their new\nlivestock. Our next sale is on this Saturday the 21<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;March in\nTullamore, Co. Offaly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clearance rate was 67% with an average selling price of\n\u20ac3,394.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Martin tapped out NOVINCHRISTIE NICHOLAS as his Senior Champion.\n&nbsp;Nicholas is an August 2018 born son of Norman Inventor and the homebred\nRonick Hawk daughter Novinchristie Isadora. Bred in Swinford, Co. Mayo by Noel\nBarry, Nicholas came to the ring with five star ratings in Replacement index,\nTerminal index, Carcass weight, Carcass conformation and Daughter Milk. After a\nflurry of bids Nicholas was tapped down to a county Dublin based farmer for\n\u20ac8,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Standing in reserve to Nicholas was SLIABH FELIM NODDY from Sean\nRyan, Cappamore, Co. Limerick. Noddy is a son of Ampertaine Foreman and Sliabh\nFelim Jenny (mother to last year\u2019s top-priced bull \u20ac11,000 Mourinho and Leo\n(sold in 2018 for \u20ac5,000)). Noddy was born in August 2018 and came to the ring\nwith an array of five star ratings and a muscle score of 136 which is in the\ntop 3%. Noddy was purchased by Matthew Harrison, Portadown, Co. Armagh for\n\u20ac5,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Junior Champion BOS NERO was bred by Joe Collins from\nCarrick On Shannon, Co. Roscommon. Nero is an eye-catching 15 month old son of\nGoldies Jackpot and the home bred Ampertaine Commander dam Bos Julie. With an\narray of five star ratings Nero caught the eye of Gerard Keane for his herd\nbased in Kinvara, Co. Galway. Nero\u2019s selling price was \u20ac4,400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Reserve Junior Champion FINBOY NIKE found a new home in the\nstunning surrounds of North Yorkshire. Nike was purchased by Chris Akrigg of\nManor Farm, Skipton to run with a commercial herd of Limousin and British Blue\ncows. Nike was bred by Tom Harney of Birr, Co. Offaly. He is a son of Plumtree\nFantastic with Ampertaine Elgin and Grahams Samson also in his lineage. The\nhammer fell at \u20ac4,000 for Nike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year\u2019s 1st prize winner at the Clare Calf finals MOUNT\nSCOTT NICK ET also realised \u20ac4,000. Nick was bred in county Clare by Ahey\nBridge Farms Limited. He is an August 2018 born embryo son of Ampertaine\nForeman and Mount Scott Eileen (a Milou-Mn daughter). Nick took the blue\nrosette in his class and was purchased by Eamonn Rodger, Tubber, Co. Clare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The multi-starred Bavardage son KELTIC NOAH also sold for\n\u20ac4,000. Noah was bred by Teleri Thomas, Longwood, Co. Meath. His dam is the\nAmpertaine Foreman daughter Keltic Iona. Born in September 2018, third prize\nwinner Noah was acquired by Thomas Cosgrave, Broadford, Co. Clare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OLDTOWN NOTORIOUS a Ronick Hawk son bred by William Hogan,\nThurles, Co. Tipperary was the final bull to breach the \u20ac4,000 mark. Notorious\nhas five star ratings in almost all traits and came to the ring with a\npredicted calving difficulty of 3.4% on beef cows. Notorious was purchased by\nDavid Connor of Mountrath, Co. Laois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TEMPLEQUAIN NAPOLEON a fourth prize winner bred by Thomas\nO\u2019Shea, Portlaoise, Co. Laois realised \u20ac3,900. Napoleon is a November 2018 born\nson of Derrygullinane Kingbull and Templequain Kylie. Michael Finn from\nPortlaoise purchased Napoleon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second prize winner RUTLAND NELSON sold for \u20ac3,600. Nelson\nwas bred by Noel Ruttledge, Co. Mayo. He is a son of Ampertaine Commander and\nthe Ampertaine Elgin daughter Dromullin Kerry Et. Nelson was purchased by Henry\nHynes of Kilfenora, Co. Clare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NEWTOWN NAVIGATOR from the Richardson family, Newtowngore, Co.\nLeitrim sold for \u20ac3,600. Navigator has Ampertaine Abracadabra, Procter Cavalier\nand Wilodge Cerberus in his sire stack. Multi-stared Naviagator sold to Daire\nDonnelly, Bailieboro, Co. Cavan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ciaran Smith of the Cnoc Rua herd based in Redhills, Co. Cavan\npresented four bulls at the sale, top priced bull of the four was September\n2019 born CNOC RUA NIGHTHAWK at \u20ac3,500. Nighthawk is a son of Goldies Jackpot\nand Carwin Export (a Sauvignon daughter). Described as \u201ca bull that has more\nstars than a frosty night\u201d first prize winning Nighthawk was purchased by Shane\nMcGeough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CNOC RUA NOTORIOUS sold for \u20ac3,400&nbsp;&nbsp; to Michael\nDunphy, Butlerstown. Fourth prize winner Notorious has Ampertaine Gigolo,\nSwarland Eddie and Wilodge Cerberus in his sire stack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also from Ciaran Smith came CNOC RUA NEILLY, an August 2018 born\nson of Elderberry Galahad and the Wilodge Tonka dam Cnoc Rua Kala.\nMulti-starred Neilly was purchased by James Melia, Kells, Co. Meath for \u20ac3,100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The final Cnoc Rua bred bull was CNOC RUA NEWLAND, a Lodge\nHamlet son. Newland, a second prize winner is out of the Ampertaine Foreman dam\nCnoc Rua Lena. Tim Ryan from Birr purchased Newland for \u20ac3,100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Plumtree Fantastic son BROOKLANDS NOAH sold for \u20ac3,400. Noah\nwas bred by Clive Jennings, Enniskeane, Co. Cork. His dam Brookland Ivette has\nQueenshead Altea and Ronick Hawk in her sire stack. First prize winning Noah\nwas purchased by a UK based farmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CARRICKMORE NEYMAR ET from John and Karol Connell, Oldcastle,\nCo. Meath sold for \u20ac3,300. Neymar is a second prize winning embryo son of\nWilodge Cerberus and the renowned Baileys Iceprincess \u2013 ILC Champion 2016,\nTullamore Champion 2015 and 2016 and Balmoral Champion 2015. Neymar was\npurchased by the Llwynybrain Herd of John Yeomans Powys, Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Helen Meaney of Lissycasey, Co. Clare accepted \u20ac3,200 for her\nCastleview Gazelle bull LIOSMEAN NELSON. This October 2018 born bull is out of\nthe Ulm daughter Liosmean Lass. Nelso was purchased by a UK based customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John and Tom Hickey from Thurles, Co. Tipperary sold BROOKLAND\nNESSAN for \u20ac3,200. Fifteen month old Nessan has Elderberry Galahad, Vison and\nRamses in his sire stack. This third prize winner was acquired by James\nAlexander of the noted Jalex herd based in Toomebridge, Co. Antrim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three bulls realised \u20ac3,000. First at this price was an\nAmpertaine Foreman son KELTIC NIGHTRIDER. September 2018 born Nightrider was\nbred by Teleri Thomas. This red rosette winner was purchased by Thomas Kelly\nfrom Ballybrophy, Co. Laois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noel Freyne, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny purchased second prize\nwinner MILAN NORDIC for \u20ac3,000. Nordic has Vagabond, Haltcliffe Dancer and\nRonick Hawk in his pedigree. Nordic was bred by Donal Mckeon, Enniscrone, Co.\nSligo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The final bull at this price was THE GROVE FARM NUDDLE from\nBernard Garrett, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan.
